Kevin Anderson

Kevin and his family have attended SAFMC for the past five years. Kevin serves in the Children’s Ministry and Upward basketball program. Professionally, Kevin has enjoyed 17 years in the Energy industry, most recently as a Senior Project Manager with Development Solutions Midwest. Kevin and his wife Sarah have been married 15 years, and reside with their two children in Jackson, MI. Kevin’s life has been one of redemption, grace and renewal from sin, pride, brokenness, guilt, and anxiety. It is by humbling growth through these experiences that he feels led to serve others in his church and community further and try to help use his past to help others.

Christy Cottingham

Christy and her husband, Ryan, have 3 children, Connor, Ryleigh and Trey.  Christy taught Special Education and worked as a Career Counselor for Western Schools for many years. Since recently retiring from this career, she has loved growing her real estate business. Christy and her family have been active in our church for many years. Christy and Ryan have served in hospitality and the children’s ministry.  Most recently, they loved every minute of their “Rooted” experience. Christy enjoys volunteering, cheering on the SAU Men’s Basketball Team, growing in her faith, and exercising!

Steve Davenport

Steve is a pediatric dentist, and has been practicing in Jackson for 21 years. He and his wife Laura have been married for 27 years, and have five children, ages 16 to 23. Steve has attended SAFMC for over thirty years. For about 18 years, he served on the Finance Committee at SAFMC, most of those as the secretary of the committee. Steve believes in the mission of our church, and in the people of our church. He has been blessed throughout the years by so many in our congregation who have prayed for him, encouraged him, and directed and helped his children develop into young adults. He is thankful for the honor of being considered for the Board of Ministry.

Joel Miller

Joel and his family have attended Spring Arbor church for the last 5 years. Joel and his wife, Janette, have four teenagers. He is a family physician with Henry Ford Allegiance, and has 
served on our Board of Ministry for last 3 years.
Joel is looking forward to seeing how our church will grow deeper and impact our community in the next season. He would be glad to serve alongside others on the Board to prayerfully put the Spirit’s leading into practice.

Libby Cross

Libby has been a member of SAFMC for many years. She works as a lactation consultant at Henry Ford Allegiance Health and will be starting as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Henry Ford Allegiance Pediatrics in August, 2021. Libby and her husband (Jake) are expecting their first baby in just a few short months. Working in the hospital both as a lactation consultant and as an Emergency Department and Pediatric nurse, Libby has seen the connection between physical and spiritual health. Libby's contribution to the board of ministry would be based in her personal experience of how the Holy Spirit has guided her while caring for those walking in some of life's happiest moments, and also hardest moments.

Steve Castle

Steve is the Executive Director of the Jackson Interfaith Shelter. He has previous experience in various roles within primary and post secondary education as well as international development work with the U.S. Peace Corps. Steve and his wife, Heather, each have three siblings who have supplied them with 19 nieces and nephews. Steve’s dad served as a Free Methodist Pastor for around 35 years. Steve has been involved at SAFMC in many ways, including as a previous conference delegate, volunteering in Teen Ministries, and most recently as a Rooted facilitator. Steve enjoys coffee, conversations, food and exercise!

Matt Gin

Matt, Miriam and their family began attending SAFMC when they moved back to Michigan in 2013 for Matt to take a job in the Advancement office of Spring Arbor University. Over the last six years, Matt has volunteered in the youth ministry, co-leading a cell group of students beginning their seventh grade year until their graduation this past May. Matt, Miriam and their five kids have also served in the past as greeters and in the nursery. Matt just began serving the Southern Michigan Conference by joining the Ministerial Appointments Committee (MAC) and Ministerial Education and Guidance (MEG) Board. Coming from a family that didn't attend church until late in his elementary years, Matt has seen the impact the local church can have on individual lives and families. This has led to his passion for the local church and Kingdom impact that it fosters.

Todd Holton

Todd is a life long member of the Spring Arbor church. He and his wife, Faith, live on a family farm where he farms 300 + acres each year along with working with his brother at their family-owned lumber yard in Spring Arbor. Todd has served on several boards here through the years and has been involved in choir and worship ministry. He is currently a local Ministerial Candidate, hoping to be ordained someday. Missions has been a passion in his life since 2000, participating or leading teams to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Todd has been a Delegate in the past, and he would like to again be a more integral part of the church.

Gerrilee Lacy

“ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind.” Matthew 22: 37,38. Gerrilee accepted Christ as her Savior at age 8. She and her husband Danny have three sons, Kip, Luke and Kirk, and two grand-daughters. Gerrilee followed God’s call to overseas missionary work and let her light shine as a women’s ministry leader, hospitality planner, nurse, and church planter in India, Taiwan, and the Philippines. She also worked as a nurse at the Holton Health Center, SAU, from 2000-2016. “The kingdom of God isn’t just a matter of talk But Power.” First Corinthians 4:20.  Gerrilee walks in partnership with His Power and would be privileged to serve as a delegate for the annual conference.

Betty Walrath

Spring Arbor Church has been an integral part of Betty’s life for over 50 years. Betty and her husband Brian attended Spring Arbor University (College back then), and 20 years later, in 1992, Brian was offered a teaching position at the University. Betty is grateful for the impact of the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church on their lives and that of their three daughters. They have particularly enjoyed being a part of the church music ministry in various ways over the years. Betty recently retired from eleven years working in the office of our Southern Michigan Conference, supporting the work of the superintendents. She would welcome the opportunity of representing our church as an Annual Conference Delegate and of sharing her enthusiasm for the work of the Free Methodist Church in southern Michigan and around the world.
